Chris Carless was born in the West Midlands (UK) but now lives in neighbouring
Staffordshire, which incidentally is known in the UK as 'The Creative County'.
From an early age, art was a big part of his life, and coming from a creative family where art was all around him it was no surprise he would go on to become an artist himself.

After some time at college Chris would often do commissioned drawings and paintings for family and friends which made him a little money but more importantly kept his love and passion for art alive. Of course, life has a nasty habit of waking you up to reality and the passion soon had to became just a hobby once more while a mundane day job paid the bills.
During the intervening years, the occasional drawing and painting kept the spark alive until now with the age of the Internet, Chris is able to show his art to the world and hopefully re-start his career in this sphere. Something he has always wanted to do for as long as he can remember.

Working mainly in graphite pencil, Chris has always tried to capture the realism in people and the life around him.
Graphite and the tools he uses help make it possible to capture shadows, texture in fabrics hair and skin, and also give the depth of Light and Dark which is always such an important feature of the genre.
